I'm selling a child's coat on ebay. I've put the P&P on as £1.50. I've had somoene ask if i they can bid and how much to send to Sweden. I can't find anything on Royal mail site and haven't got time to take to Post Office and find out - anyone got any ideas how much it will cost? cheers

I've always found the royal mail website (https://www.royalmail.co.uk) very helpful for calculating prices. There is even a guide that shows price comparisons for overseas mail.
As you are quoting £1.50 for UK p and p I have assumed that the package weighs 400g or less if the £1.50 equates to 1st class mail. That does seem quite light for a childs coat?
Anyway, using 400g as the final weight airmail to Europe would be £3.73. If you want it sent insured and signed for then it would be an additional £3.30 on top.
These prices are of course making assumptions about the weight of the parcel and you really do need to weigh it on kitchen scales or something and double check it against the Royal mail website. Never guess post costs, you might get a nasty surprise, at least if you know the rough weight you can make a more educated guess and make a firm price for your buyer.

Thanks for that. It's more a lightweight jacket rather than a heavy coat. I have guestimated the price!! based on past weigh ins. Someone has already bid so if it is underestimated and hopefully it won't it's tough on me.0

Soolin agree with the above...... withthe exception of your insurance. I assume that the £3.30 is international signed for which has a minimmun cover of £30. (You can add more at a cost). But if you get a C of Posting then you are covered for that anyway!0 -
After undercharging many times, I purchased some digital scales a couple of years ago and I have never looked back! Turns out to be one of the best "eBay investments" i've ever made. (digital scales are only £7.99 from Aldi atm!) I weigh all my parcels and give a realistic price. No nasty surprises and everyone is happy

Misty for future reference if you click the Royal Mail link in soolin's thread (www.royalmail.co.uk) you will find the "postal prices" on the right second box down under "Track & Trace". Just select "airmail" from the drop down menu.
Alternatively, follow this link : http://sg.royalmail.com/servlet/acedispatcher?funcId=100&AceApplication=consignia&pageId=frameset
which is pretty self explanatory
