Travel Insurance: Avoid Insure & Go

Options
I purchased travel insurance from Insure and Go with a 90 day policy to cover winter sports. I was injured after 3 weeks and had x rays etc., and was prescribed 10 sessions of physio. I paid for 2 and then spent weeks providing copies and jumping through hoops (based in a ski resort with limited access to printers and scanners etc.,) to get approval for the remaining 8 sessions, in considerable discomfort. Eventually (5 weeks later) I was told they wouldn't pay for the treatment in resort but they would fly me home. Once home it has taken them 6 weeks to settle the claim and they have declined to pay for the physio saying it is not a medical expense. Why didn't they say that in the first place, avoiding a lot of bureaucratic nonsense, and what sort of medical cover excludes treatment prescribed by a doctor? A lot of money for a product that didn't deliver and DREADFUL claim handling.

Travel insurance is about emergency medical cover to effectively patch you up well enough to get you fit enough to fly home. I suspect they are arguing that physio was not emergency medicine
