Energy Websites

I'm looking for the energy supplier with the best customer interface and wondered if anyone could give me some feed back?

I'm looking for the best overview of your energy usage so graphs and comparisons with the national average usage, estimated bills generated from monthly meter readings etc.

Basically, the energy supplier that has the most intuitive interface.

    Intuitive Interface ? !

I'm afraid the only person involved in your Utility supplies who has real-time data on which to make decisions from day to day, is you. - The meters are in your house - DO NOT trust any information/billing issued by a supplier until you have checked it from your own records, readings and arithmatic.

Some suppliers are better than others for accuracy, but things change and who was good becomes bad and Vice Versa - At the moment n'power are struggleing with new software and giving customers huge problems

National consumption averages, (3,500 Kwh Elec & 16,000 Kwh Gas), are a mythical formula used by Suppliers & Govt. Agencies when quoteing average costs - But in the real world, with real houses and real families, they are meaningless

I have to agree - graphs and tables are nice to look at but of no great practical use.

In this case common sense is your best guide. Using this or that more costs more. Using that or this less costs less. No statistical analyses are required.

There are some complications - but graphs will not help. Each sector can be tweaked as your comfort or pocket demands - of course different items have significantly different contributions and you can prioritise concentrating on those - but that should not preclude smaller alterations.

As to cost of usage - just read your meters and keep a rough tally yourself. Grab a starting balance. From that point keep track of monthly (or whenever) payments so you know how much you have paid.

Read meter and make a simple multiplication to find out how much it costs.

If you like you can try http://imeasure.org.uk/ which will preserve usage history when you transfer tariff/supplier.
  • They have a online energy account which is linked to their Smart Meters and you can see your daily usage and compare month to month etc

    Why?

As a member of a moneysaving site, why do you not just want the cheapest?

Many suppliers will give you actual bills if you provide them with monthly meter readings. :)
