Debt Free - but LloydsTSB still causing me bother

Options
Hi,

I am very new to this site, and wish I had joined years ago.

I am currently debt free thanks to a Debt Arangement Scheme (DAS), this saved me financially and now I am more savvy with my money.

Although, I have many problems with LloydsTSB.

During my time in DAS I was never given a statement, so I never knew where I was... This was all cleared in January this year... Still never got a statement.

However, after claiming PPI, which was upheld, I now have a healthy sum, but this was all put into the LloydsTSB account . So I got a statement for the first time in 5 years.. They have still got me in collections and taken £805 saying I still owed them that... I have AIB writing to them to say that I cleared in full all accounts in DAS, so I should get this money back..

However, I want to close my LloydsTSB account but I was told that I need a card. I don't have a card as I never used the account for over 5 years... still I need a card, "it is policy".

I was given, by LloydsTSB staff in branch, the number of lost & stolen cards for Halifax/Bank of Scotland... not helpful, and eventually got a correct number looking on their site. Spoke to a guy who said he is sending me out a new card.. Sounds ok so far. I asked for a PIN, I have to phone another number... got given this and the unhelpful person I spoke to kept saying it is the wrong number although he was from LloydsTSB... he hung the phone up on me... called back 5 mins later (calming down) and spoke to a guy for ages, who sympathised with my situation but could not give me a PIN, saying the guy who is issuing the card could have done this... I was on the mobile phone for over an hour talking to people in LloydsTSB who are being very unhelpful in closing my account.

I took in my ID of about 5 different letters/bills for address, Passport & driving Licence, including letter of PPI being upheld... but they dont accept this as my account and wont help me close the account.

I was asked by one person on the phone do I want to make an official complaint, I said Yes, I was told to ask for redress for the compensation of the calls... but I want all my accounts to be clear as they should on ending DAS, close my account and be totally shot of LloydsTSB as they have never been helpful to me as a customer and I am sick of how they are treating me...

What would be my next course of action as I don't want this running on for months??

I think the complaint route is your only option, to close your account and another one to get your money back

    Thanks,

I drafted up a good letter, and will send this on monday.

Hopefully this can be sorted very soon.
