Fitting New Halogen Hob

Hi, I've got a new integrated halogen hob to replace my gas hob but need to get it fitted. Can the plumber who comes to take the gas hob out and cap the gas do this or do I need an electrician as well?

Any ideas on what I should expect it all to cost?

Cheers

Am I missing something here ???
You are getting a plumber to take out the gas hob ??
No he cant cap the gas.
Yes you need an electrician to fit the electric hob.
Personally I would leave the plumber out of it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning: A plumber who is also CORGI registered and can self certify electrical work (e.g. my OH Corgi Guy) will be able to remove your gas hob and replace it with the ceramic one. Visit https://www.trustcorgi.com to find an engineer and check his/her qualifications.

Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)
  • Many plumbers are corgi registered.

Fitting the halogen hob will require a sparks I am afraid!

Cost depends on whether or not there is a circuit there already, if not this could be expensive!

Why would you be missing something?? I need gas CORGI registered plumber/gas installer (does that make it easier) to safely take out my gas hob and cap the gas supply. Then I need someone or the same person to fit my new "electric" cooker??? If I left the plumber out of it are you saying that a regular electrician is suitably qualified to safely cap my gas supply?!

Hi think there is a circuit there already its a new house and there is a plug which the oven is wired up to which says "cooker" on it I'm guessing it could be wired to that.
