Starting New Business but at present at Student

Hiya,

I'm about to start up a new beauty business and just finishing off college. I've been to the Business Gateway to find out about funding as I only need £2k at most to start up. I was advised the best way to get funding to do this is use credit cards at 0% finance.

My question is, will credit card companies actually give me a card? I have no means of income at present. My husband does but the card would surely be in my name?

With presumably little credit history and no income, the chances of getting a 0% deal are unfortunately somewhere between zero and none.

Given your limited options, it would be best (assuming he is comfortable with it and understands the implications) for your husband to provide the finances in some form.

Up until August 2012 I have always been in full time employment and my name is on our mortgage. So I will have a credit rating and a good one. I have a credit card with Lloyds TSB at present and have no balance at present on it.

I suppose it could go in my husbands name, it'll just make it slightly more difficult to purchase things over the phone, but we can always plan for that.
