Charged on incorrect meter type
Thought a warning was warranted here. Our winter fuel bill was HUGE but like everyone else we thought it was due to the long cold winter. Scottish Power e-mailed to say that they were going to hike our monthly payment by three times its current value, which even with the large bill was excessive. I phoned to say that WASN'T happening and it turns out that in January our Gas account was mysteriously swapped from being billed as a Metric meter (11Kw per unit) to an Imperial meter (33Kw per unit)!! My advice to you all - if your bill seems high - don't accept it as being due to the weather - query it - if this has happened to our account, who's to say how many others this will affect? (Don't suppose they will check unless the bills are queried.;))
