pay off my mortgage convert the attic to a room with en suite.
build an extension to the side maybe
stick solar panels on what is left of the roof after conversion.
pave front garden and go buy another house. sell the car as ins would be a nightmare.
and probs still have change for a fantastic hol or small deposit for another house.
not that I ever gave it much thought mind:rotfl:63 mortgage payments to go.
Zero wins 2016 😥0 -
I've been bed bound for a decade, the NHs keep turning down treatment which costs £50,000 and could make me better. I would spend £50,000 on treatment, while in hospital I would send my parents (who care for me) to New Zealand and with the last bit, I would have a family holiday for the 3 of us.Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

Firstly, i'd sell the car; I don't drive & the insurance would be astronomical!
After that i'd be torn as to what to do with the money... the sensible part of me says buy a flat (the only way is could prob ever afford to!), clear some debts & treat myself to a nice holiday.
THEN...there's the other part of me which says "when will I ever have that much money at the one time again??...go spend it on those 'oh, if only I had the money to do that' things". So I'd take a few years off work and go on a world tour which includes a lot of wildlife inspired trips, long holiday in some gorgeous Pacific island like Tahiti, see the Northern Lights...the list goes on, well at least until the money runs out :rotfl::rotfl:
Its very unlikely I'll ever need to make such decision but ah, if only.......:DWine is made to be drunk, I am drunk, therefore am I wine?0 -

Ooooh! Funny you should mention the daydreaming thing ...
Pay off the debt, flog the beemer and buy a decent 2nd hand car (dont fancy having to run in a new one!), get the house re-wired then redecorated and anything left over, a nice relaxing holiday!
I reckon that would take all of 2 days to spend!I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum?0 -
I'd pay off all of my debts - credit cards, small hp's, install solar panels, new boiler for the house, new blinds, carpets changed to wooden. Should still be plenty to buy my mums council house, and if anything left after that i'd pay a chunk off my own mortgage.
Oh and sell the big car to pay for a more economical car, maybe a large part of a Tesla Model S electric car....oh yeah! Or I'm sure they'd give me the new BMW i series. Thanks to all the competition posters.0
