I was going to be made redundant by Marine Midland Bank in the mid 80's, after they were taken over by HSBC. I left before the date, so didn't get the package. I found out later that I would have received the payment and also been offered a position at HSBC.

I was certainly a RETARD to miss that golden opportunity

Did they offer you one of those griffin piggy banks as part of the redundancy package. If so you were a real dunce! P.s. to complain about this post please use both the "report" and "spam" functions. I am certainly going to complain about you calling yourself a retard - I suggest you also do the same.

That's equality for you. You get the downs and the ups. In employment tribunals it is the "B*stard" defence. My terrible behaviour does not mean it was discriminatory to you...I am ab*stard to everyone.

Yes but it does not matter that you discriminate against all of your employees at an ET. It only matters that you discriminated against the claimant in particular. The fact that you area b*stard is not relevant.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

I said terrible behaviour - people believing they are discriminated against may find that they are not - they were just treated equally badly.

The word retard was used with negative connotations (as an insult) .

He was using it to describe himself. Who was he insulting?

I hope everyone has reported BobQ for insulting children born out of wedlock. Disgraceful.

Using a term which insults mentally and physically disabled people when talking about a company that employs such individuals is very crass. The fact that he/she was describing themselves is irrelevant. Some terms are unacceptable for use on a forum....pretty obvious really!

It wasn't explicit though you had to go out of you way to decipher it and solve the conundrum, if you wanted to be offended.;)

Your user name reminds me of a time when I was savaged by a grizzly bear (in a dream*). I find it offensive.

Hmm, typical left wing PC brigade.

In other news, did you hear that Diane Abbott opened her mouth again. She called Nadine Dorries "Demented". This is much more insulting and completely unacceptable for use by a politician, especially one that is the Shadow Health Secretary

It may be unacceptable but she is probably right, even though left. Quite possibly a transient phase.

How old was Thatch at her height of power?
