Yawn, this again!
If anyone is abusing the scheme, report them. Simples!
Tell the DWP dates, time, description. That what I did to a group of mothers who had kids with a contagious for of ADHD etc. they were all watched by the DWP investigators and now they catch the bus!
Now, if you could find the cure for the keeping their tax payer subsidised homes clean and tidy. Not using the front garden as a tip, or actually keeping it clean so they don't drag the area down affecting our property prices, I am all ears!0 -
This is exactly what i mean...some disabilites are not apparent to people. if we had some great big badge on our car saying "this is a disability car" im sure some people would be spying on him and/or reporting him. we wouldnt be bothered by this as he has a legitimate disability but its not nice to think he may be getting spied on.0

If you take the tax payers shilling, you do so knowing you can be checked on. For every peron who pops up giving an example of a genuine condition or disability, there are many many that are not. If it were no so, why are there so many stories?
I could tell you about a project, but the mods remove anything thst has any semblance of something that happens in the real world, or proves your qualification to speak on a subject.0 -
I thought the DWP were really going to clampdown on the whole Motobility scheme by reassessing everyone on DLA HRM.
There are some people who are taking the micky with this - we have a couple down the road who live in a small council bungalow and have a brand new Merc on Motobility:)
They can get a Mercedes if they pay a fee in advance as well as the whole HRM DLA. And as council housing isn't means tested, why shouldn't they be able to afford it?
Almost everyone on DLA will be reassessed for PIP. I don't know of any additional plan to reassess everyone who's on DLA HRM separately.
But if you have reason to think they shouldn't qualify for DLA HRM, you could report them. And if you think they're breaking Motability's rules on permitted use of the car, you could report that.0 -

Yawn, this again.
If you see Council house tenants using their front gardens as tips, take your own advice and report it.0 -

Yes i have visited both council tenants and privately owned, i think people are people whatever homes they live in, i have seen filthy people in million pound houses and clean people in council, it is obvious to me that a person would take more pride if they OWNED something generally speaking but that is human nature and nothing to do with a persons behaviour.
And on the Motability part most fraud would be to do with the usage of the vehicle by relatives [unpermitted usage] to qualify is very strict criteria but most of the abuse is normally by their relatives getting a freebie0 -
is it not true, that it is a road tax issue, and not DWP issue,my wife when coming back from supermarket, was stopped ,and questioned, also asked e if se had mobile phone, incase i needed to get her, police do ,on accasions do there job0

Seriously, live & let live.
We can't judge people by their looks as to what illness they have. I can't believe people would report other people without knowing their full circumstances.
Particularly at this time, with the government trying to turn the population against itself & disabled people being bullied, the next time someone's shipped it could be you.
Btw its people's decision to use their dla for a car or whatever they want, again why do people feel the need to feel resentful if someone has a nice car?. I would rather have a crappy car & no illness, then be "awarded" higher rate dla & been offered a new car, which is paid for from a benefit that recognises you have a severe mobility problem. No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
I get HRM but we won't get a mobility car because my husband uses the car more for his uses than mine i.e. he is in a band and goes to practises, gigs etc so he would be abusing the scheme if he did this with a mobility car.2019 Wins

Yes, and more importantly, he wouldn't be insured. Insurance companies will get out of paying claims wherever they can and if they were suspicious about the reason he was using the car then they would investigate thoroughly.0
