I have just looked into the ferry from hull and my best option from there would be ferry to zeebrugge and drive to DLP.
I wondered if anyone had tried this option or has any thoughts or opinions on is in comparison to other options when travelling from manchester area?

ask on the DISboards forum, you'll get lots of helpful tips for driving there :) -

We drove from Blackpool and found that petrol + dover/Calais ferry was far cheaper than the other ferry's on the East coast. Have you had any quotes for East coast ferries? We are going to Holland this August and even from Nottingham priced up (using viamichelin.com) that the dover/Calais route + petrol was cheaper than crossing Harwich-Hook of Holland.
