Postage to Brazil

Anyone have issues with post to Brazil - had several issues with items going missing recently, and now have added the country to my exclusion list.

Conveniently the latest purchase, before I added it to the exclusion list has conveniently contacted me on the 45th day after their order, so they can't open a case but can still leave feedback. Anyone else smell the kippers?

Since airmail went up I pulled 99% of my airmail, I simply don't ship abroad anymore. But prior to that I never shipped to South America or anywhere I considered developing countries.

I don't have a problem (touch wood) with email, even in problem countries like Italy, where I send a lot of items, around 10 per week.

Sold very little to Brazil, but must have a 50% loss rate there.

You would have to have quite some mark up to tolerate that in your business model.

You only lose your profit though as RM will pay out on standard airmail.

I have sold quite a bit to Brazil, from memory I can't recall any losses. It is still on my 'approved' list of countries.

Not without proof of posting they don't and a lot of businesses don't have the time to do that in the Post Office.

To elaborate, if your business model is to accept 50% loss to Brazil because you can claim from Royal Mail, then your business model needs to take on board both getting proof of posting for every item sent to Brazil, and filing claims for every item lost, which at 50% could be a whole persons job description!

50% of about 6 items! It's not going to break me. As I said, I no longer post there as it's not worth the risk.
