help car insurance expires

hi
due to a few crisis in the family i have just got around to trying to insure my car tonight online, when i checked my policy it is coming up as expiring on the 23rd of may, does that mean it expires at midnight tonight or tomorrow? if i phone and renew in the morning am i covered from when i do the phone call, im now worrying as i need to be at work for 6 in the morning

usually there is time given when insurance expires, look on your certificate or schedule.0
