Another ebay question

I put a 3 piece suite on ebay and sold it straight away at the "buy it now price" problem is my wife put it on ebay without me knowing and someone has bid on it.

How do I cancel it?

Thanks

Click on more actions next to the item in my ebay and then end item. Presuming there is more than 12 hours left on the auction.

If less than 12 hours then contact the bidder and apologise saying the item is no longer available due to a communication error ;)

Or as appears to be the case nowadays, wait until the auction ends then say "sorry the dog ate it"

The OP has said it sold at the Buy it Now price.
Your best option is to contact the buyer and ask if you can send a "Request to cancel the transaction" and give your reasons, and hope they agree.

You can always just say nothing, refund the buyer and take any feedback/low stars.

It depends whether the OP wants to cancel the BIN or the auction. My interpretation is that he wants to cancel the auction not the BIN - that is the lower risk option.

I don't quite follow you. The auction would have finished when the buyer
bought it at the BIN price.

The same item was put up in two seperate adverts, one for auctions and the other, buy-it-now.

I see what you mean, same item listed by different family member.

Was just the way i first read it.
Couldn't delete my post quick enough. :)
  • The question is, how long have you been married, maybe OP won't be married much longer at this rate - good job you found out she was selling it before it was taken away in a transit van! God forbid you find the car gone when you get home tomorrow.....:rotfl:

"communication" is a keyword to note down for future reference !!
NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself"

With regards to the eBay sale, I think honesty is the best policy with the buyer - all marriages have their "miscommunications"!!!
hopefully the sale can just be cancelled with no hard feelings.
A wake up call for you both though - communication, like other posters have said, is the key.
