Renewable/sustainable energy legislation

Hello,

Does anybody know of any upcoming global/national legislation with regard to the use of renewable enrgy? I am considering investing in some renewable energy companies and want to know about the impact of current/future legislation on the industry and and the economy in general.

What is the future of this sector?

Any suggestions/ideas appreciated.

Mixed IMHO. There will be the out and out conmen running 'carbon trading' scams. There's the posturing from know-nothing politicians rushing through daft legislation to be seen to do something, i.e. EU banning sales of filament light bulbs. Then there is the fact that peak oil is on us and that alternatives are needed. I'd hedge my bets with some investment in uranium mining too - let's face it nuclear is going to be a big part of any energy future; even the Guardian is on message!
