Hi there
Do you already have an egg card? I did some major re-jigging of my finances and at the time I had a barclay that offered 0% for 6 months on all balance transfers, so the idea was to move everything off my barclay card on to my egg card then move the whole lot back. i didnt have enough room on my egg card to do this, so i phoned them up and asked for an increase. They asked why i wanted the increase... I was honest I told them I was paying far too much apr (16%) I had been offered a much better deal and i wanted to move everything over to barclays.
They chap that was on the phone said he didnt want to lose me as a customer and he would go away and see what they could do.
So he came back to me with - free balance transfer, with that apr for the life of the balance. So thats what I did
Basically if you are a customer, threaten to leave and see what they can offer you. You giving them some money compared to no money must be better than nothing?
I dont spend on the card at all, just use it as a loan.
Good results everyone - keep up the good work
I am hoping the virgin card will be paid off in Jan, but will have to seeMarch 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009
