not as described

I've had a buyer open a item not as described case against me.

She basically said she has found it cheaper and it arrived broke (which I doubt, shes just found it cheaper)

Anyway throught the case I offered her a full refund if she returns it. Since then I have heard nothing.

Now the case said if we can't resolve it between ourselves and it gets esculated to ebay, it will be a mark against my account. Obviously I'm trying to avoid that by offering a full refund.

But what happens if she simply doesn't reply? Will it still be esculated and count against me?

By the wording of her message it seemed she wanted a refund AND keep the item.

Nothing will happen unless either you or her escalate it.

If it escalates, then Ebay will make a ruling, probably in her favour asking her to send it back.

If she sends it back with tracking they will refund her, probably before you get it back.

The case system is coming under a lot of criticism particularly on the Powerseller Ebay board where they resident pink (Ebay rep) is trying to come back will full clarification. But it looks at present like:

If you ask the buyer to send it back and they escalate it, then Ebay are refunding within seconds and giving you the black mark.

If you ask the buyer to send it back and they don't escalate, the case times out after 30 days, or thereabouts.

Seems completely unfair if thats the case.

I shouldn't be suprised though. This is ebay after all.

    Thanks for the detailed reply.
