You buy the domain like
Www.mysite.co.uk
It comes with a control panel where you set up
Me@mysite.co.uk
Which you can redirect to your personal email or access via webmail or outlookEx forum ambassador

Go to a 'domain registrar' (I have used easily.co.uk since the late 1990's, there are many others out there). Search for a domain you like that's still available (you may find the cool ones are long gone, eg Dave.co.uk but scousedave.co.uk still available). Buy (actually, rent) it. Mine cost me about a fiver each a year for.co.uk, bit more for.com.
Most domain registration companies will offer email hosting accounts, and /or web hosting. For an easy life, you can use their service, or if you want a degree more freedom you can set up a Gmail or similar account, and with a bit of configuration have your emails come into that account, and also appear from your domain when you use that account. Plenty of instructions online, or ask in the techie forum as the details will change according to who you use to buy(rent) the domain0 -
I'd recommend https://www.crazydomains.co.uk for a domain, costs £2 a year,
with a minimum of 2 years, as with all .co.uk domains, who after you login, you can extend your domain for a further 8 years, for £15.20, which IMO is quite a bargain, considering others charge up to a fiver a year, and worth it to know you don't need to renew your domain yearly.
Also, on top of that, I'd recommend some kind of hosting account that is SEPERATE to your domain name provider, why separate? Because you have much more control over what you are using, even if it's simply just for emails.
There are plenty of hosts out there, a recommendation from me would be for krystal.co.uk who are currently running a year's service on their basic plan for a quid https://www.krystal.co.uk/birthday come renewal it's £29.99 a year, which is fairly standard fir UK based hosting, with a fairly long running company, you can get cheaper hosts, things like a month for a quid etc, but a lot of geese are new startups, and many won't be around in a year, which is always a bit of hassle to sort out.
This will give you your mydomain.co.uk address, your me@mydomain.co.uk email addresses, it'll also give you a small amount of hosting to allow you to put up some kind of website should you wish to in the future, which IMO people should do, even if it's only a simple contact page.
On top of that... if you want to get all technical, I'd recommend a Google apps account, it's essentially Gmail and various other Google services for your domain, they currently charge $50 per user per year, but there's a way to get one user for free.
It means you can use your emails by going to say email.mydomain.co.uk and logging in as you would with a normal Gmail account, you then have the IMO excellent Gmail user interfaced.
There are many benefits to using Google apps, which I won't go in to in great detail, but you have your basic features, your email, calendar, documents, storage etc etc which you can link up and sync to various mobiles and other devices, but you also have a multitude of useful 3rd party services, many of which are free, that could come in handy, for example, there's free basic online accounting software, which you access with one click from your email account.
If you want any help setting anything up, let me know, I'll happily set it up for you, for free, because, without sounding rude, you don't sound that up to speed with these types of things, as you're asking how do you get an email address, and it would literally take the minimum amount of time for some who knows what they are doing to setup, once you have purchased a domain and hosting.0 -
Those are low prices from Crazydomains, below cost in fact, I know companies who used to do this who would then charge high fees for services that are free with other registrars?
I've always used 123-reg.co.uk myself.0 -
It's easy, there's hundreds of domain companies out there, I use 321-domains.co.uk as they supply worldwide domains and can do server hosting all the way to Rackspace. That way, no matter how large you go you can tick with them. It is a pain to move.
The best ones will not only give you a control panel, but pre-made websites that allows you not to need any specialist knowledge on how to build them.0 -

£2? As someone who resells domains, I honestly don't know how they are selling them that cheap.0 -

I sell the cheapest for £1.20, rising to £5.60. transfers have one year free for every year registered, but depends on where you are in the pecking order, Resellers/Affiliate etc as the bid rates are at an all time low and icann are loosening their reigns.0
