which email client do you use?
dbx are from outlook express also what are you trying to import into?
if your importing in to outlook express (OE) you need to use the import feature in OE.
file, import, messages, select OE 6 then select import from an OE6 store directory, you then browse tot he folder containing your mail folder files. it is always best to copy the whole folder not just dump the dbx files on the desktop as that doesnt work.
it isnt possible to import direct to outlook from OE files, you need to import them in to OE then import from OE to outlook. works for me everytime.0 -

You could try: DBXtract http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...d,23383,00.asp to extract the emails to a seperate folder.
First I would copy your .dbx files to another location, ie: create a folder in c:\ call it 'email dbx backup' or something and copy your dbx files there. You would create another folder on your desktop, call it 'saved emails'. Run the program, it will output a bunch of files. Which you will be asked to save to a folder which is the reason for 2nd 'saved emails' folder you just created. Once the program has run its course, close it.
Then you should be left with a bunch of files in the 'saved emails' folder. Open the folder, open OE highlight the Inbox and minimise both on screen so you can drag and drop the emails between the 'saved emails folder' and OE Inbox.
Highlight one of the emails in the 'saved emails' folder, press 'Ctrl +A' on your keyboard to 'select all' folder content, then simply drag and drop the ghosted emails into your OE Inbox. You could try the 'Import' wizzard as previously described, I imagine that should work but the lasttime I had problems with OE this was the way I did it.
After which I moved to Thunderbird as it saves all your files in an more easily accessible folder structure\format and is easier to work with.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
