Any ideas on how much it should cost to replace flat single garage roof?

My poor OH spent his week off doing this on the roof of our kitchen extension, which is MASSIVE. We were quoted £4K by a professional roofing company and after I had picked myself up off the floor, OH decided that he would do it.
We bought a roofing system from Wickes, which consists of two layers - you put the first underlay layer down, and then paint with cold bitumen and then lay the top layer, sealing the edges with silicon type stuff. It's self adhesive and seems fairly straightforward for a flat surface with no roof light etc!
When the weather is hot, the two layers melt together to form a surface which is really stuck down. It cost us about £500 for the materials, and a week of OH time! He could have done it in about 2 days, but the weather was very showery. It looks totally professional (even around the edges!)
Best of luck!

I was quoted about £450 using a rubber type felt [SIZE=-1]EDPM, this is a large garage btw and used for storage. It included replacing any of the roof boards and also the wood facia boards.
This was back in April 2007
