Sick pay insurance

My current employer does not offer any sick pay other than SSP. If I am off I therefore don't get paid my current daily rate. Does anyone know if any companies offer sick pay insurance. For example, if I have 3 days off ill in June, I can claim against my policy for those days to ensure my monthly income is protected?
Many thanks

I think for a couple of sick days here and there you need to have a rainy day savings account.
The illness policies are generally for longer terms of illness or unemployment.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
There are a couple of providers who offer day 1 cover, however, you generally have to be off for a minimum of 3-days before you can make a claim, although this is backdated to the first days illness.
Obviously, the risk of someone being off work for only 3-days is pretty high therefore the premiums reflect this, however, for certain occupations which command decent day rates they are certainly worth considering.
Seek a protection specialist or IFA who writes plenty of protection business and they should be able to assist with those companies who offer such a short deferment period.0
