Nhs pension - can I pay in additional contributions?

Options
I worked for the NHS nearly 25 years ago for a year and a half. Does my NHS pension still exist and is it possible ( or wise!) to reactivate this pension and continue to make contributions even though I no longer work for the NHS. I don't have any other form of personal private pension and am self employed.

Normally with under 2 years contributions, you would have been offered a refund or a transfer to another pension. You usually cannot become a deferred member with less than 2 years so it's unlikely it still exists.

No you must work for the NHS to contribute.

Your only options are to take out a private pension.
