The Range are doing my head in!

About 10 days ago I received something I'd ordered on-line from The Range. I also received another parcel which I wasn't expecting, but which had a label with my name and address on it. Inside it were some very nice curtains and and an invoice to someone I'd never heard of. Ok, so far, just let the company know, I thought, and they'll sort it out - oh so wrong!! I have still got the curtains because they can't seem to organise a collection for them, or send me a label to send them back to them. And they keep asking me (via email) to phone them to arrange something but I keep saying why should I ring their premium rate phone line when it's nothing to do with me. Even if we do finally arrange a date it means me having to wait in.
I just feel like forgetting it altogether, or perhaps just writing to the person who ordered them telling him they are here and would he like to collect them (he's not the other side of the country, but maybe 40 miles away. There is no question of me being charged for them, so what would happen if I just kept them (they are of no use to me) and didn't do anything. Am I being unreasonable?

Invoice them £20 a day storage , £10 a phone call plus £40 an hour waiting time for the courier !0

Thanks shammyjack - only wish I had the nerve, but your post did lighten my mood and cheer me up! Might even think about it - what do others think?0

Have you e mailed them and told them you have NO INTENTION of calling their premium rate line at your expense?
I would e mail and say that you have done them the courtesy of letting them know you have this parcel and you expect them to make arrangements to have the parcel collected at a time convenient to you or you will dispose of the curtains, as you see fit, after 28 days.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Do you have anywhere safe they can be left?
I'd just email and say you've left them in the porch, which will be unlocked on Monday for their courier to come and pick up.
Most couriers are more than capable of picking up a parcel from a safe place without anybody present, as long as the parcel is clearly marked!
Once a driver for a collection we'd booked picked up a toilet seat (brand new thankfully!) instead of a pair of boots from somebody's car.0 -

I have emailed twice and told them I will not phone them on a premium rate phone line and why - they totally ignore that! I've even given them my number so they can ring me, but they obviously aren't capable of that. I've twice asked if they could send me a returns label so I can just take it to the Post Office, but no response to that idea. The last email but one I received from them asked for my address (which they have - I am a customer of theirs anyway) and today they wrote and said I was too late to add to collections on Monday so please tell them another day, but in an earlier email I had said any afternoon except Thursday would be ok this week. And no to the suggestion about the safe place or porch - firstly I don't have one and secondly I want to see this parcel off my property into the right hands!0 -
Is it possible to take the item to a post office with the return address showing and ask for it to be paid on delivery ?0
-
Email them, saying you will hold the item for 7 working days, if they do not collect, you will dispose of them.
Then put them on ebay and make some quick money.0 -

Actually they seem very nice curtains - fully lined too and all for £21! No good to me as they are blue but might fetch a bit on Ebay. I do like stuff from The Range and have had no trouble with the stuff I've ordered and had delivered but I am running out of patience now with their customer service.0 -

I don't think the post office would accept them on my say-so - they would need some barcode or other on a return label which says The Range will pay.0 -
I sent them a "firmed up" email and this is what I've just received today from them
