Shredder for plastic food packaging

Our council is moving to fortnightly general waste collections to (delete as appropriate) - a) encourage recycling and do their bit for climate change b) save a few quid and make life inconvenient for us.
The list of what cannot go into the recycling bin (plastic food trays, margarine tubs, yogurt pots etc.) probably makes up 80% of what will go into the small general waste bin.
Is there such a thing available as a shredder which can cut up plastic packaging, and avoid the need for hiring a passing elephant to sit on the bin lid each week?

Shops and industrial premises usually use a large compactor and then send the compacted packaging or boxes on for disposal/recycling.
Here is a domestic product which compacts waste but unsure how much it costs:

Complain to your councillor.
The only stuff we can't recycle is plastic packaging/bags and black plastic. Most of the time we struggle to fill the bin for the fortnightly collection.0 -
Couldn't find a price for that, but strangely drawn to the bridge-of-the-Enterprise lights of this....

I think that works on the same principal as vacuum clothes storage bags. Not sure how effective it'll be but at that price, sounds like a bargain! Although you do need to purchase their special bin bags with a vacuum hole at the bottom.
You'll probably be paying anywhere from £800 upwards for a proper domestic compactor. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
