finger salad that doesnt require the use of a knife and fork...cherry tomatoes, celery, grapes etc

Am I the only person who would like to see something like a few crisps or nuts

And not being a huge fan of indian food maybe a pork pie/quiche or something similar

A lot of the food seems a little dry...or in need of some dips perhaps?

A cheese board with a plate of crackers might also be a nice touch as not everyone likes sweet cakes/eclairs

Crisps ! Can't believe I missed those off Thanks .

I was thinking about cheeses but they will push the price up a lot.

I haven't said but I will put some dips/mayo etc to go with things like sweet chilli sauce, raita, mango chutney .

I think the key to it is quite a variety and colour...thats what makes a good buffet IMO

looking at the list its not particularly varied...theres a lot of prawn, and a lot of spicy...I think you could also perhaps substitute some of the spicy stuff for maybe pizza bites.

seems a lot of sausage things too...cocktail sausages and sausage and bacon rolls..as well as sausage rolls

What type of wedding cake are you doing?
see in my mind thats the sweet part of the buffet and therefore I wouldnt bother with the cakes and pastries, therefore giving you an extra budget to play with.

Sorry ive just read what type of cake it is going to be ...so all the more reason not to have further plates of pastries on the buffet table too.

And if it were me I would probably just do enough mini bags of sweets for the children..and not worry about the adults...

I am probably not too far off then !

The Bride doesn't want too many sandwiches and as much as the buffet is for her guests as well, one of the only things she has specified is lots of Prawns lol !

Think I might remove one of the Indian things and add in pork pie.

She wanted some Gateaux's but to make serving easier I have found the individual mini cakes.

I hope you won't take offence but it does seem to be a little brown/beige, as another poster commented you could add colour (and a fresh taste) by using some salad and veg, I would do carrot and cucumber sticks served with dips, toms with a teaspoon of egg , boiled and chopped, mixed with a little mayo with a little chopped chive, celery with some cream cheese, a very finely sliced radish to garnish each one. Cheese can be used on small crackers, use something with a little colour, wensleydale with cranberry and with apricot, maybe just a little blue cheese, or using cream cheese you can then garnish with half a grape, red or green or both! Are you able to use the fridge at the venue and if so how big is it? you can pepare most things ready for assemble, just needs a bit of forward planning (that's easy for me to say eh!) How about some prepared fresh fruit too, strawberries, melon, pineapple, orange segments can all be eaten with fingers, there's lot's more too!! Good luck!

At the mo the veggie eaters are stuffed if they don't like indian food, and for wheat avoiders there's little choice. Cheese is pricy though! You could go bonkers trying to please everyone though. Perhaps some sort of savoury rice balls? For wheat free desserty type thing I'd suggest adding some mini flapjacks.

Definitely more colour - crudites would be good.

    Price is doing very well!
