Store card help!!

Hi
I took out a store card for £250 about 4 years ago & set up a repayment direct debit of £5 a month and have been paying it for at least 3 years. Last October I cancelled it as I hadn't heard from them in years & wondered if I even still needed to be paying it. The other day I got a letter from them saying I now owed £271 and have to pay it in full! They wouldn't tell me how the payment had got to such a cost or how much I had in just charges.
Is there anything I can do as this is the first I've heard from them in 3 years!!
Thanks

Why wouldn't they explain the make up of the alleged debt?
They'd have to if they want to pursue you in court for it.
I'd suggest you follow the store cards complaint procedure
