Credit Card Fees

Hello all,

Couple of quick questions hoping that someone can point me in right direction.

I have gone through my old credit card statements and apart from claiming for PPI on a credit card and several loans I notice it is possible to claim charges on my credit cards.

I know that it says that you can't claim credit card charges pre 6 years ago, but if I still have the statements can I claim then??? (I have about £150 in charges on two cards)

Also, can anyone tell me what the 'renew card membership' fee was for on a Barclaycard? I have several for £10 back in 2000's.

Finally and it is a long shot (and just a thought)... If banks only hold information for 6 years then surely any record of bad credit can not be proved after this time as there would be no evidence thus wiping clear any record of that debt???!!???

Just wondering as on a expedia credit search I have accounts going back more than six years on there.......

No, as the article explains, you cannot reclaim charges over 6 years old.

The 'renew card membership' sounds like the annual fee for the card. If you didn't recognise the transaction, you should have asked the card provider at the time.

In relation to the last point you made, your credit history should only contain information relating to the last 6 years ... although if accounts were opened before this date and are still open (or money is being actively pursued unser them), then those accounts may still be shown (although there should be nothing listed over 6 years old)
