Slimbrowser question

There is a much used saying "don't try to fix something if it aint broke". Well today, someone fed me the idea of a browser called Slimbrowser so I took a look and read the gumph. I quite liked to framing of photo's facility and a few other things photographic, especially as the chosen site was one I use, picasa. However, despite watching the video of "how to.......", I still haven't been able to get in.

Does anyone know anything about it please?

I think its just a web browser, so not sure what the 'get in' would be. In the technical notes it refers to frames, but suspect that will be the type of frames that allow browsers to host full html containers as opposed to anything photographic...

It's apprentally got some sort of photo editing add-on that lets you add frames to photos http://www.slimbrowser.net/en/photo-salon.php

From looking at the site it's based on ie/part of I.e's code & needs Internet Explorer to run (
It requires at least IE 6.0 and 256MB RAM.

Q: What rendering engine does SlimBrowser use?
A: SlimBrowser uses Microsoft Trident engine, which is the same browser engine used by Microsoft Internet Explorer. We recommend that users upgrade to Internet Explorer 9.0 if using Windows vista/7 for best web standard compliance and maximum security. For users of Windows XP, please upgrade to Internet Explorer 8.0. We also provide a webkit-based browser called SlimBoat if you prefer open source rendering engines.

Q: Can I uninstall Internet Explorer after installing SlimBrowser?
A: No. You can't. SlimBrowser depends on the trident engine included with Internet Explorer. We actually advise users to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer available their operation system.
