Netgear WN3000RP range extender and wifi dropping out

I bought a Netgear WN3000RP wifi range extender which works brilliantly as a bridge for my Sky box and also gives a good signal in our living room. The only problem is that our Sky Netger 834dg router loses connectivity 4-5 times a day. This has only happened since I bought the range extender.
Any suggestions for what I can do to stop this happening?
