I definitely led the horse to water. Many horses, actually, with the help of quite a few others.

Very glad to see that very many of them are enjoying the drink.

I can support this point as I opened a Flex Direct having seen your comments about how easy it was. I had imagined that no sensible financial institution would tolerate a £1K in and £1K out on the same day arrangement. But they did.

Another of my concerns is that leaving £20K in a current account is risky, since you tend to give details of your current account to various people so there is a greater risk of someone plundering your account with fraudulent use of a debit card. Does this represent a real risk?
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Re the 20K , if you set it up to operate as savings account and not your main current account I don't see there being a problem. it isn't as though you are constantly using the debit card or buying stuff over the internet etc. with it either. As long as you don't divulge/share any passwords, PINs etc then the bank would have ajob rejecting any genuine loss claim.

My DDRs only go to known genuine recipients.

    IMO not really.

Yes, that is - partly - what I mean. I keep saying that thinking outside the box opens new opportunities.

As above............and as has been discussed plenty of times all over the board. 123, Lloyds and BoS Vantage, FlexDirect. An individual can, subject to passing the credit checks required, easily put over £110K into a combination of these. Access is of course instant in all these accounts. I know it is possible because I know people who have done just that.

This is why the (smart) rich tend to get richer!
