Lost camera

Options
Not quite sure if this is the right place for my query..... My son, on returning from holiday lost his expensive camera, having left it in the (London) taxi that took him home. He has no all risks cover on the camera and is unable to trace the cab driver. I wondered if there is some sort of "Cabbie grape vine", where you could ask a question along the lines....could the driver that did a run from Victoria to "wherever" on Sunday night around midnight, please get in touch.

There's over 20000 black cabs in London so it's a long shot.

Many of them are members of this association, they may be able to point you in the right direction http://www.ltda.co.uk/

Alternatively try calling the Victoria Station Manager and be really nice, the same taxi's tend to queue at the station ranks so if you're lucky they may have a word with a taxi driver on the rank who could pass the word around. Most London taxi drivers are carp drivers but have good morals so you may be in luck.
