Yahoo account has been hacked

My friends have been received emails from me I did not send. On logging to yahoo, I was asked a security question and then prompted to change my password. Am bit concerned at first as how do I know I am now on a genuine yahoo site. I did the check up and there is my name near the sign out and then https address. Is there anything else I should do, I hope I was not on a rogue yahoo site. Thanks

First thing to do is check your sent mail.
If there's nothing in there, it's someone using your email address instead of their own and not a lot you can do about it.
If there are emails in there that you didn't send, I'd change your password from a known-clean computer and run Malwarebytes on your own machine.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Yesterday many Yahoo and Aol email accounts were hacked and people in address books were sent infected links.
Warn everyone in your address book not to click on this link and yes change your password.0 -
Both my in-laws had their yahoo emails compromised sending out links to their contacts, fortunately the time the emails went out (5am) and the fact they were just a link rang alarm bells. Apparently this has been ongoing at Yahoo for some time and I felt it was time to switch them to gmail, whether this is a good move time will tell0

Its a common problem, you need to scan your PC, change your Yahoo password and logout & close your browser.
