Thinking of going to Manchester for my 40th at the end of the year, as fancy a look round the christmas market..
can anyone suggest any decent hotels in the city centre.

We stayed at the crowne plaza, great location and if you go for executive room continental breakfasts and complimentary evening drinks and nibbles are included. For us, ticked very box and we will probably return again this December.

The Deansgate Hilton has some stunning views of the city - and check out the cocktails at Bar 23 on the 23rd floor.

Not sure what star rating it is (is there even still a standard rating organisation any more ? )

With regards to star rating - im not sure ?? just really meant i was looking for something really nice and at the upper end rather than the cheaper hotels etc, as its for my 40th, i wanted a treat...

I think crown plaza hotel gives you best deals in the city.

The Midland is (apparently) quite posh. And quite near the Christmas markets too.
