Personally I would not do a 99p start on this but wait for the nest free listing weekend instead.
My reason would be that if it went for 99p, your FVFs and paypal fees will wipe out any cash in hand. Added to that you have all the issues of finding and booking the courier, wrapping machine securely and waiting in for it to be collected. Then if buyer decides they can't fix it and open a spurious claim for SNAD there is a 'fair' chance that will tie you up in needless arguments while paypal decide what to do. If paypal decide to find in buyers favour and they do manage to return it, you are out your original postage.
I would not go through all that bother for less than a good £10-£15 and would rather donate it to a good cause.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Getting a 'not as described' complaint is always a worry, even with an item of good quality, but I think I have covered that in the wording - not in full working order, problem identified as x but unable to test further, 'spares or repair only' three times, that kind of thing.
But you are probably right. It's a lot of potential hassle for not very much return. It's not that we want to make money out of it, although a few quid would be nice, but that it would be criminally wasteful to dump it in its present condition. I think we would be happy to give it away, as long as it was going to be used (or the good parts were) rather than end up in landfill.
The 'good cause' is a bit of a problem, as charity shops are often unwilling to take any electrical devices because of potential liability issues. We haven't made any decisions yet, as there's no particular rush, and I suspect we may be thinking again after digesting the comments on this thread.
I appreciate everyone's time and effort in responding; thank you.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
I stayed in all day for the collection , but Citylink never turned up on the agreed date , when I phoned citylink they acknowledged that they never instructed their courier to make the collection , they said we would get a refund and they would collect the next day . When I asked Parcelmonkey to provide the credit they sad we were not entitled to anything , check Ts and Cs they said , so there you have it - they are unreliable - we will never use Parcelmonkey ever again , I told them we would issue negative feedback but they don't seem to care , in fact the responses from their help site appear to be computer generated :rotfl:. So think hard if you are considering Parcelmonky0
