Ombudsmen ruled in our favour but they aren't playing ball

Hi guys,

We lodged a claim with the ombudsmen about a mortgage ppi claim with nationwide.
We had all the paperwork and the ombudsmen contacted Nationwide to say they ruled in our favour but Nationwide are now challenging the ruling.
So now it's another department double checking the ruling before it goes to the next ombudsman who can legally make them pay up.
It's already been 18 months + and we're no further on. Nightmare!!

Mortgage insurance complaints are mostly rejected by the FOS. You typically need very good reasons for complaint to succeed on that front. So, Nationwide appear to disagree with the adjudicator decision. Some adjudicators are very low skilled and its possible the decision made is wrong. Whilst a lender will usually fail in a loan or credit card complaint. It is the opposite with mortgage.

What was your complaint reason and why do Nationwide disagree?

The ombusdman didn't rule in your favour, an adjudicator did. Now it's gone to an actual ombudsman. Which is a potential part of the process you should have been aware of from the outset by doing a bit of research.
They may not find in your favour.
