Credit Card - Debt Collectors

Hi all,
Please help...
Last September we took out a credit card with Laura Ashley to get a 10% off deal. We came away from the shop with a credit card agreement and £50 worth of goods.
Since then we have received nothing from them, no cards, no statements, no letters or phone calls... To be honest we forgot all about it because we didnt receive anything.
We received a call from Capquest debt collection agency the other day, stating that they have a letter for us from Santander, who the cards should come from.
We called Laura Ashley, who confirmed they have sold the debt to Capquest, and that they have sent lots of letters to our address. (When Capquest spoke to my wife they didnt seem to know out address).
I suspect that the cards and all the correspondence has gone astray (if there was any).
We don't mind paying the £50 for the goods, that's fair, but we really feel that we shouldn't be paying the extra £140 lumped on top of that.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
Thanks in advance..
NR

Write to the DCA telling them that the debt is disputed as you've never received any correspondence, and ask them for a breakdown of charges and details of where your statements were sent to.
Send recorded delivery and request they keep all correspondence in writing. What will your verse be?

All sorted... Wow,
The credit card company have admitted that they were sending all correspondence to the wrong address. They have recalled the debt from the DCA, cancelled the account and given us £45 in compensation.
