We have £1 bucket - put a £ in and use little round sticker on with their phone number on it and the 1 that is drawn out wins half the money.
Wine or water - wine bottles with either wine or filled with water, bottles are covered so that the contents can't be seen. £1 per go. We generally have 20 bottles (5 of which are wine at any one time)

Our church fate was on saturday and by far the most popular stall was lucky socks. two rows of socks on a washing line, each one had a sweet some had raffle tickets, these tickets corresponded to a prize on display at the back of the tent. 20p children bottom row -25p adult top row. they couldn't keep the line of socks full it was so popular.

    That's a brilliant Idea!

On another thread once, someone suggested a chocolate tombola (maybe better for Xmas fetes)
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • We had a washing line with 365 envelopes with the days of the year on, a £1 a go- win a prize every time- ie: free tea or coffee, a lollipop, bbq voucher for burger or hot dog, and some major prizes (all donated) ie- restaurant voucher, cinema ticket, a promise , ie; bag of ironing done ... such a great money spinner £365 for nothing and its a sell out as everyone rushes to get their birthday / childrens birthdays anniversarys etc..good luck!

it's also sometimes good to 'rent' out stalls to crafters - at £30 a time, you get more variety, guarenteed income for little outlay, and something that can attract in more visitors....

  • I am on fundraising group for my sons school (infants) and by far most popular stall is the headmaster in the stocks, the headmaster loves doing it and kids and parents love throwing wet sponges at him!!! Also good money maker is the cake stall, teddy tombola and raffle (we send out £1 page of raffle tickets with the fete reminder letter so sell fair few hundered before the event|), also popular is tin tombola...esp if prize a time (again tins donated by kids/parents just check sell by dates), coloured hairsprays, face painting and manicures (just a nail paint) also popular....stalls we find not so great are fancy goods, water and wine and guess cake weight/guess teddy name...thanks for the ideas everyone!
  • p.s. i did lucky dip this year, just small prizes wrapped up, one tub for boys one for girls.....sold out within half hour at 50p a go.....filled tub with paper shreddings, but messy but better than using hay!
  • tattoos (rub on type) brought from ebay excellent for the children that have just out grown facepainting! charged 50p - £1.00

The best advice dont charge entrance fee people come with X£ children normally have set pocket money. Instead of manning entrance free up person to run another stall.

Just to check, are these the properly printed raffle tickets with the promoter and details of where it's registered included, or just cloakroom tickets? Because if it's the latter, you're only supposed to sell them at the event!
