Have massive debts with powergen upwards of £700 duel fuel.
Looked on u switch and whilst i could save loads on DD's currently pay £177 to clear debt and usage, unit costs with powergen were cheapest last i looked so thought i would be in a false economy. What do people think will it be false economy in long run or best option help seriously broke now and have young babe can't afford to keep heating off? which is looking lik eonly option for next winter

it seems many of us have posted similar threads recently. not only have the prices gone up generally, but we think p/gen may be keeping monthly payments deliberately low to put you/us in this locked in position.
try and economise where you can, especially with elec - switch things off as soon as you don't need them. energy-saving lightbulbs v cheap in morrisons (39p) at the mo. put heating on timers. cook double batches etc.
i am planning to pay mine off before i switch so i know where i am. also have a look at the other utility comparison sites via the link on the front page of this site. again, going through quidco may also make you some cashback.0 -
To switch company and take advantage of the lower monthly dd you would have to clear your debt with Powergen. If you did that anyway, then your dd with powergen would be similar to those you are looking at on the comparison sites.0

The majority of complains here are that Utility companies won't reduce DDs and get 'blasted'.
You blast them because they try to reduce a DD.
Utility companies really are in a 'Lose-Lose' situation;)0
