Confused how to claim against Coop

Hi, I would really like some help with starting my ppi claim against the coop. I initially took a loan out with them for £15000 around 2004. which i topped up with an additional £1500 in 2006. Mid 2006 i paid the loan off in full. I had ppi on this loan but cannot find any paperwork for this loan what so ever. I've checked online bank statements to see if there are any account details but there aren't. I've rung the coop and they've said that the account will be archived and that i need to write to them to gain these details.
I've read the guide, but i've got no idea which way now i go with it. Do i need to supply payment for them to supply me with paperwork? Also what will the actually supply me with? (account details and any t&cs????).
Please help, this is starting to get me down and seriously considering using a company to claim this back.

    Send them a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter;
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553
    and enclose a cheque for £10 payable to the Co-Op.

    A claims company will not do any of this research for you. You have to compose your complaint yourself and the CMC will just charge a large percentage of any redress you might eventually win.

    sorry for sounding thick but i don't have any account numbers at all for this loan (all paperwork has been destroyed). Would i just leave this blank at the top of the letter or put in brackets that it is required??

    Just go to the link I provided above and adapt it for your own use. A SAR is a collection of all the bank has on file for you, not just one loan.

    If this loan does not appear on your SAR then the Bank no longer have any record of it and so your complaint will be over.
