Microsoft Word 2010 - tracking changes - different authors

I'd like to know whether its possible to track changes by 2 different authors in different colours?

I use tracked changes a lot but whenever I click on the change colour option in the tracked changes menu (using Microsoft Word 2010 I should mention), it changes the colour for the existing alterations which isn't what I want.

I thought it might be something to do with author set up but either I am doing something wrong here or this isn't the answer.

Ultimately I'd like to know if a document can bounce back dozens of times between two authors with a rainbow of tracked changes ?? and how you go about doing this / what settings you need to select?

sorry can't help personally...............I HATE track changes with a passion, confuses me.

I am wondering - don't use this function often - so might be wrong.

Are you using your own log in to make the changes - or do you both have the same name. If the author has the same name it will keep the same colour.

Bear in mind its a long time since I have used tracking but I remember something about that.
