Consent to Let letter

I am considering renting out my apartment and buying a new property. I have had a brief conversation with my mortgage provider in terms of obtaining a new mortgage and they mentioned that I would need to send them a consent to let letter if I decide to rent out my apartment.
These may be fairly daft questions but I was just wondering what kind of information and how much information I need to include in a consent to let letter?
I don't want to give too little and risk being rejected but is there a standard amount of information you need to provide such as likely rental payments, reasons for wanting to rent out etc?
Thanks for any advice!

Sorry, are you saying that the mortgage company considering lending to you want evidence that you have 'consent to let' from the mortgage provider of your flat? I would imagine this is because they don't want to give you a residential mortgage when you already have one.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Hi, no sorry I didn't explain that very clearly, it would be with the same lender but they said to me that I would need to put it in writing to them requesting a consent to let letter from them. Was just wondering what I might need to put into my letter asking for consent to let?0

A simple letter requesting CTL, explaining briefly why, and asking them to let you know if they need any further information.
