Sale Goods

I ordered a pair of shoes in a sale from a site I use all the time, never had to return anything to them until now.
They say that due to being sale goods, as highlighted on my invoice, I'm not entitled to a refund, but only an exchange, the shoes were returned within 7 days.

They have nothing else that I want, so I want a cash refund.

Am I entitled to one?

Yes, under the DSR. It doesn't matter that the goods were in the sale, the DSR should still cover you for a refund provided you've let them know, by durable medium, within 7 working days that you wish to return the item. As you've actually returned the item in that timescale, I'd say you've pretty much fulfilled those conditions.

Did you let them know that you didn't want the goods? Did you mention the DSR?
