Cornwall is very varied so you may be best picking your area first, but as a guide, I like it around the Gwithian area, bit more rough and rugged, near St Ives etc
have a look at this place but if it's a club house etc that you are after then this is not the place for you

Again, no clubhouse but next to two beautiful surfing beaches. A few miles from Padstow.

I stayed at the St Ives Holiday Park in Hayle (not actually in St Ives but there is local bus which goes to St Ives. )
This was my first ever camping experience and am glad we chose this site. Plenty to do and see here for all ages. The beach was lovely - v long and not very crowded. Had great fun trying to walking up and down the steep sand hills/dunes to and from the beach.

following recommendations in this thread we went to Par sands which was quite a nice site.
if you do go there and will be camping in tents, ask to be put in the camping area, rather than the static caravan area, otherwise it is somewhat of a trek for water, toilets, showers etc.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
i would second st ives caravan park,i went there when i was a child(every year!!)and i even went back 3 years ago.
it has 2 clubs one for bingo and more lively entertainment and the top club for live music, and a typical cornish pub on site.a big park play area and both, indoor swimming pool, take away and laundrette.the village about half a mile away is called hayle which has pubs and shops etc,and as previous post has a bus or train into the beautifull st ives.appreciate what you have got x0 -

We stayed in a holiday flat next to par sands last year and it I would not describe it as beautiful in comparison with all the other lovely places in cornwall- Par sands are the site of a huge china clay works that churns out smoke from its chimneys all day (and night I seem to think).
You can hear the noise of it from the beach and the holiday park and I can remember saying to my OH that I was glad that I would never want to stay in that site because of this (the site itself looked ok apart from this).0 -

whilst you're right in saying that it was by by means the most sceneic of locations, we choose the site because it was competitively priced, well equipped and very well located for first timers exploring cornwall. knowing what i know now, if i was to return i'd stay in st ives because it was my favourite place of everywhere we visited. but Par/st austell is not a bad area per se.
with regards to the factory - noise and smell from there were not an issue on site when we stayed there last summer, and our tent does not offer much in the way of sound or odour proofing!
i believe im right in saying that the pitch was around £15 pn. considerably cheaper than the £20 plus that most places in cornwall were demanding for a tent pitch in high season. all depends on what you're after i guess.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
