Deciding where to live, single 30 something

Hi All,

I'm a single guy in my early 30s and am looking to buy or rent in my home town of Reading. However, I am finding it difficult to decide where and not feeling that excited about it.

I am selling my current flat which is out in the suburbs which I am bored of, and I'm fed up of getting buses/cycling. I don't drive and don't want to, my preferred transport is train and I often will go to London, or possibly the other way to Bristol for a day out.

I don't know if I actually dislike the place but I do get the feel of it being a bit soulless, and when I go to other towns/cities I realise there are other more interesting places with more culture and more going on.

Any views welcomed.

If you aren't sure then renting is ideal as you can only be stuck in a place for no more than 6 months before moving to another place.

Could you keep the flat and rent it out or is that not worth considering?
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Oh aye ! That's what you need as a single fella in your early 30's can't beat a bit of old culture init.
I remember not so long ago going out in our very northern vibrant towns with my friends Rupert and Tobias out there at midnight taking in all that atmosphere with old Rupert shouting look at the culture on that.
There is plenty of culture ,you should maybe head north!
Names in this post have been altered for class distinction purposes only ,it's really Jon and Nigel
