in Credit cards
Hi.
I recently noticed when looking at my credit report that a search is shown by LloydsTSB for a loan application. I have never applied for a loan in my life. Then today I received forms from the Post Office about a credit card application I haven't made, asking for all sorts of identification for 'fraud prevention purposes'. I also recently had my Tesco credit card stopped because of 'unusual transactions and changes' to my account, though this turned out to be because I had changed my address twice within a relatively short period of time.
I'm really worried that someone is using my details to try to obtain credit, and that they might do so again, though it seems strange that they would have the documents sent to my real address, so I'm not really sure what to do.
I have no idea how to go about reporting this, or who to, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

It would appear someone's using your details to open accounts. You need to take action asap to avoid any debt being created fraudulently.
This site should help you - it's operated by the police and is probably a good starting point. You can also report fraud there.
You also need to be contacting the Post Office and Lloyds to report to them that the applications were fraudulent and not made by yourself.0 -

Thank you.
1st logical point of contact is with the post office to make them aware of the application.
Then try Lloyds.
I would also talk to your own bank on this as they will have a department who will be able to advise you best.
It may involve a CIFAS marker on your account which will mean you have to provide more info for any credit you apply for, rather than just having it approved online.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

For heaven's sake you dimwit, no one is going to buy your spammy services on a UK site. Reported.0
