I have a very long standing Life Assurance Ploicy with Winterthur, due to mature in about 8 years. It is only sum assured £2500, and has been going about 25 years, at £3.xx per month!
For several years now, the bonus notice has showed no addition to the regular bonus, but they seem to bang on about the terminal bonus looking good?
Anyone understand these things at all? My Sum Assured + Bonus, when they did happen, is around £6100. Anybody gueestimate at all what I may get eventually, or has anybody had one mature recently?
If I remember right, it used to be with Colonial Mutual, but they got taken over.

Most regular bonuses are low nowadays. The returns will be more noticeable in the terminal bonus in future due to financial solvency reasons.
Colonial Mutual also were a bit of a problem for Winterthur and you have to wonder if they ever regret buying them. Much of the problem isnt caused by winterthur but the old Colonial Mutual management.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). What is the surrender value now?
You could see if anybody will pay you money for it, that gives an idea of how worthwhile it may be.
