also advise the landlord that the neighbour has a key to your flat- im sure he will be interested in why this man has keys to a property not owned by him...sounds like a wonderful man- i second the very heavy torch or alternatively a handing hammer, just propped a picture up by a wall as you are clearly in the process of finding the time to put it up.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

Who even has to ask this kind of thing on a money saving forum? It's pretty common sense; if you think there's a good chance you are going to die then asking for the opinions of various anonymous people around the world on a forum without doing anything to attempt to reduce the chance of said event occurring is not a very good idea.

You need to contact your landlord and make them aware of the situation you are now in. Nobody can reasonably be expected to live in fear, in close proximity to another who sounds seriously dangerous and unhinged. I hope that he/she will handle this responsibly and find you a new place to rent fast.
Whilst you are waiting for this to be organised, I would strongly suggest moving out and staying with friends or family. Dont return to this flat to collect any of your possessions unless you have someone else with you.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
I had to say that I think you should be commended for making the call to the police in the first case, so many wouldn't. My advice is to speak to the officers dealing with the case for your neighbour directly and discuss concerns as measures can be put in place to protect not only the victim of domestic violence but witnesses also. You may have been given a reference number by officers that took your statement or call the 101 number to request a call. To make you feel safer I agree with better locks, I hope your landlord would assist. As you live in flats I would think there could have been many other neighbours that could have called the police other than yourself. I would also hope that bail conditions would have been applied to the male, to not reattend the address while this investigation is ongoing. Hope this helpsNo purchasing unnecessary toiletries

the poster is obviously worried, she still has 5 months left of her 6 month tendancy - the landlord could be funny and say she has to pay up! - sometimes asking advice from strangers gives her some answers and some support.
Unless youve been in a situation with neighbours like that, its not a nice place, I was a few yrs ago - the person even threatened to r a p e my young daughter - he was in social housing - the police were literally living there, we had stuff stolen from the garden, threatened etc so yes I do feel for the OP she needs to put herself 1st xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
