Hi Folks, i am moving to a house by the beach :) it does however have LPG... Which the landlord will fill and we pay monthly on our usage, everyone is saying this is a costly way to heat a house and by winter we will be very expensice...obviously i am very MSE and will not be heating all rooms or walking about in dead of winter with no clothes on lol but would like to know what to expect... Does anyone have this and could advise their winter cost just to give me a rough idea?

It's about the most expensive form of fuel. But that rather depends on how much per litre your LL is going to charge you-why else would he offer if he's not making a mark up on it?

Hmmm - So far as mains Gas & Elec are concerned, Landlords are not allowed to make a profit when re-billing save for a reasonable administration charge, but these rules don't apply to LPG - You can only ask to see the suppliers invoice before paying the Landlords bill and kick up a fuss if they aren't the same - but in the end you have to pay what the Landlord demands

i called the letting agent and said my concerns, to which is reply was its metered! explained that i understood the meter part but i was just wanting to ensure that i was paying the price he initially paid - he agreed this should be the cas(unfortuantely its not an option for us to just fill ourselves as its a shared tank with neighbours) anyway letting agent is going to speak to owner and others in his office and get back to me
