Help please: How much to install new gas boiler & system

Hi, my sister needs to replace her very old back boiler/fronted with a gas fire, and 10 rads - its all very old.

Can anyone give a rough idea of how much this would cost.

Sister had a grant a couple of years to insulate the walls and roof - but could not a grant for the boiler. She recently went self employed, and money very tight. A rough idea would be a great help.

  • Why doesen't your sis phone around for quotes from local installers ?

Your Q cannot be answered on this this site given the parables of boiler type, etc, etc

this sight can give you a rough idea of how much the system would cost all you would have to do is get a quote for installation which is very varied, other idea is ask around for recommendations from people you know

Avoid British Gas at all costs. They will charge you a fortune. I was quoted £5k to just replace a boiler, a reputable local engineer quoted me £1k.

I had to install GCH in my new house as it had none!
I was told to avoid BG at all casts - which I did.
Mine cost £2000 for a top notch boiler and 7 radiators -but as others have said, it depends on a lot of variables: where you live, type of boiler etc.

1700 for a good slimline combi boiler and 3 radiators, if this helps.

    £11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings

  • my mum just 3 days ago was charged £4,400 by british gas for replacing her gas fire and back boiler with new fire £536 and new combi boiler. This also includes 5 years of home care about £500.

She is now having signed and handed over £200 deposit -trying to back out.

Honestly when dealing with anyone over 70-they should insist another person should be present!!!!!
