Pontins Prestatyn

Had a letter today from the Sun £15 holidays, saying they couldnt book my date / park choices :(

Well i did only put down one end Aug date :o :rotfl:

But I have now booked online one of the few remaining parks available on that date ..............

Pontins Prestatyn !

It must be bad if it still has availability  :rotfl:

soooooooooo anyone know how bad it is ? :rotfl:

We used to holiday in Rhyl area etc, a lot when I was small and took our 2 sons there for a few days in 2005 and they seemed to like it :rotfl:

I looked online, and it should be £300 for that date and we will be paying £75 so not a bad saving, and just a few days break before the boys go back to school is what we want :) so long as they have fun thats all that matters right?!:rotfl:

any feedback on this park would be greatly appreciated ! good and bad :rotfl:

    phew ! :rotfl: thanks

Rhyl was looking rough when we went in 2005 , but the kids loved the Sun Centre ( OMG how expensive!!! but we did stay for hours !)

I am hoping they will be happy with the beach this time :rotfl: :money: ( weather depending of course !)

any other places of interest you can recommend nearby would be great :)

We went to pontins at prestatyn last year and to be honest it was horrible.

I likened it to holidaying in the soviet union by the looks of the place. You had to pay for the electricty by card, £1 a shot, and while it lasted a fair while make sure you don't leave it on the shower button or it is gone in the !!!!!! of an eye.

Oh, it was a little dirty aswell in the chalet. I had just had an operation and to be honest i was scared about the place anyway as I couldn't see too good. The food on the camp is a scabby version of KFC which we named Keith's fried chicken, and erm, its just a little tired.

It might have improved in the last year.

Personally I thought Rhyl was nice and million times better than in recent years. I would love to go back to the area but wouldn't even go to Pontins when they were offering us £30 for a weekend!

argh ! oh dear not good !

TBH I have holidayed in budget Butlins accom so i'm not expecting luxury or anything ;)

we wont be eating on site,we will either SC ourselves,or eat out and about :)

we will just use it as a base if the site isnt up to much :) but so long as the kids can go in a pool / on the beach they will be satisfied !

    Thanks for your reply

I think so long as you aren't expecting much then you will be fine. To be honest I was all off kilter anyway so I am probably being over mean.

I hope you have a really nice time.

Dont think its quite luxury but just an avarage butlins/pontins tbh.
for the kiddies id recommend the sun centre, chester zoo isnt that far away and is a great day out or go to the sea life centre. about 10mins away is colwyn bay zoo,but havnt been for years so not sure what its like. You could come to Llandudno and go to the copper mines ( a bit boring) go on the cable cars, tobogan run, down the pier, ski slope or if its sunny have a day on the beach and save some £££

    look-
a holiday is what you make it!!! to be honest the kids wont notice a thing wrong and if the kids are happy that's what it's all about..
if it's not up to standard- either complain or just do a clean and tidy up to your standards and you will feel better........
some of the older chalets are a bit grim but it's just decor.. you will have a good time, how old are the children? its brill for kids........
